Pure Power Mouthguard
Dr. Sussman was recently interviewed by Channel News Nine in his office while providing a treatment demonstration of the Pure Power Mouthguard. A specialized hybrid, the mouthguard is developed based on the biting forces and jawbone positioning relationships of the patient. Click here to watch the video.
Technical data obtained from the Myotronics K7/CMS Computerized Mandibular Scanner is used by Dr. Sussman to create a custom mouthguard that normalizes and/or optimizes neuromuscular biting forces to assure normal TMJoint functioning and maintain balance between jaw, head and neck musculature.
Professional athletes typically experience an immediate change of functioning that affects the entire musculo-skeletal system that leads to improved athletic ability and performance. Overall, the improvement is reported to be 25 percent or more.
TMJ patients, people who have migraine headache pain symptoms and report remarkable changes (nearly instantaneous) in muscle tone affecting areas of the head, neck and shoulders. Dr. Sussman demonstrates the use of this advanced technology in treatment for cavities and root canals. Another popular application of the Waterlase laser is the modification of gum lines, also known as gum contouring and gumline reshaping.
